STMicroelectronics IPS4140HQ Quad-Channel High-Side Solid-State Relay

STMicroelectronics IPS4140HQ Quad High-Side Smart Power Solid-State Relays are monolithic 4-channel drivers with very low RDS(on) and per-channel diagnostics. Featuring STMicroelectronics™ VIPower™ technology, the IC is designed to drive any load with one side connected to ground. Active channel current limiting combined with each independent channel, thermal shutdown, and automatic restart protect the device from overloads.

A channel in an overload condition overheats and automatically shuts down and reopens to keep its junction temperature between TTSD and TR. If this condition causes the case temperature to reach TCSD, the overloaded channel shuts down and restarts only when the case temperature drops to TCR. In the event that more than one channel is overloaded, restarting the overloaded channels does not occur simultaneously to avoid high peak currents in the power supplies. Non-overloaded (non-overheated) channels continue to operate normally.

Four open-drain STATUSX output pins indicate overtemperature conditions for each channel.
