ADXL367
Analog Devices Inc. ADXL367 MEMS Accelerometer
The Analog Devices Inc. ADXL367 MEMS accelerometer is an ultra-low power, 3-axis microelectromechanical system (MEMS) accelerometer that consumes 0.89μA at a 100Hz output data rate and 180nA in motion-triggered wake-up mode. Unlike accelerometers that use power duty cycling to achieve low power consumption, the ADXL367 does not alias input signals by undersampling, but instead samples the entire bandwidth of the sensor at the full data rate. The ADI ADXL367 MEMS accelerometer has a constant 14-bit output resolution. At the same time, 8-bit formatted data is provided for more efficient single-byte transmission when lower resolution is sufficient. 12-bit formatted data is also supported for design compatibility with the ADXL362. The device has measurement ranges of ± 2g, ± 4g, and ± 8g, with a resolution of 0.25mg/LSB in the ± 2g range.
The ADXL367 has many features that enable true system-level power savings. These features include: deep multimode output first-in, first-out (FIFO); built-in micropower temperature sensor; internal analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with interrupt capability for simultaneous conversion of additional analog inputs; single-tap and double-tap detection that operates at any output data rate and requires only 35nA of additional current; and a state machine to prevent false triggering. In addition, the ADXL367 provides external control of the sampling time and an external clock.
The ADXL367 operates over a wide supply voltage range of 1.1 V to 3.6 V, allowing it to interface to a host operating on a separate supply voltage if necessary. The ADXL367 is available in a 2.2 mm × 2.3 mm × 0.87 mm package.
